   Here are a few reminders to keep in mind over the long weekend.

Language: Students were given a reading and writing package to complete over the weekend (Islands + recipe). I would also like students to read on RAZ-KIDS as well. It is highly recommended for parents to provide their child with a microphone and headphone. You can buy it at the dollarstore. Raz-Kids is an excellent tool for us to hear the students reading progress as they record themselves while reading. The assignments that I also assign each week requires students to have a microphone and headset. InshAllah, starting next month I will allow students to bring it in so they can practice using it in the computer lab.

Islamic Studies: In Islamic Studies class we learned about The Prophet Ibraheem's children: The story of Prophet Isma-eel (chapter A1) and the story of Prophet Is'Haq (chapter A2). There will be a test on Tuesday October 14, 2014 about these two chapters. The test will consist of fill in the blank and matching.

Class Dojo: As you may be aware that I have started a system on Class Dojo. Class Dojo is an excellent way for you to be informed on your child's behavior in class. I sent out a letter yesterday for parents to sign up and check daily updates. There is also an app you can download on your phone to keep you in the "know" at all times. InshAllah, I will be sending home weekly updates on your child's behavior, most likely on Fridays. I will send out the first report next week as we just started this yesterday.
